Cupboard Love
Here is Wookie's latest expression of love. He was down with the dive squad near a deli that makes a sandwich I love so he brought me one last night.
It has horseradish cheese and dressing! I can feel the last vestiges of my most recent cold running in fear of its spiciness.

Why the World Needs Editors

Note to self: Eat more salad.
PS:
One of my favorite bloggers, Jenny Lawson (A.K.A. The Bloggess) posted a picture today that supports my thesis. This store also needs an edit.
(For the record, I would not, could not with a fox...)

Blogging While Tired
After I posted, I realized I posted to my other blog by mistake. So here it is: Midnight in the Garden of Cherry Cheesecake.

Happy Thanksgiving!
I was cropping this picture from last year to make it look better. Then I realized that most important part of this picture isn't the turkey or the stuffing. It's the people gathered around the table.
With everyone in our lives so far flung it's impossible to be with everyone we care about. We have friends and family all over the U.S. and all over the world. Even if we don't see you every day, know that Wookie and I are thankful to have you in our lives.

52 Weeks of Photos, Weeks 4-11
Here's what I've been up to...
(They didn't specify whose body parts.)
Montezuma's Castle--Camp Verde, Arizona
I was on a flight and found it was easier to take pictures out the window with the camera upside down. The result is this shot that looks like I took it from space!

I am not sure if this qualifies as High Key, but I thought I'd give it a shot. The hood ornament was on a white car. I boosted the exposure in iPhoto.

Ink Is Not for Eating
(Yeah, I know it's an octopus, not a squid, but this sculpture outside of Cliff House in San Francisco was the closest I had to a squid.)

A Boat Load of Sushi
I thought for sure it had to be what both Rich and I both ordered...until the waitress said that another boat was on its way. It took me a while to stop laughing so I could eat.
I think I need to seriously work on my math skills before I go back...but I will be back!

Zen and Tacos
I am a multitasker by nature. The advent of smart phones and tablets have only exacerbated that habit.
Add to those gadgets the waterproof cases I found at the SCUBA supply store and I have found myself free to watch YouTube videos and TED Talks in the shower and to blog from the dinner table without fear of ruining my phone by spilling soda on it.
Whether or not this is actually a good thing is still up for debate. But there is an exception to meal-time multitasking. Tacos.
Eating tacos requires a certain amount of mindfulness. It is difficult to assemble a taco one-handed while typing with the other. Even more difficult is eating one without wearing some part of it if you are not paying attention. (Especially if you are like me and all of your shirts are all super attractive when it comes to stray food particles.)
So, if you're feeling a little over-taxed and looking for a break from multitasking, then I think tacos are the way to go for dinner. Then again, even as I wrote this, I found myself thinking that using a meal as an opportunity to take a break is, in a way, multitasking.
Oh well.

I Love a Diner
After we ordered, we settled in to discuss the afternoon and upcoming plans. I snapped a few pictures with my phone, trying to capture the moment without disturbing it for the handful of other diners who were also enjoying the evening.
We were last out of the diner — a first for me; the diners near us are open 24/7. After we dropped Rich off, Paul and I headed home. The parkway flashed by in a blur.

Each Lovers the Othr. Forever…..
[Post edited to make more sense. I shouldn't blog while tired. Thanks to OWG for pointing out what I missed.]

TEA!
It's been too hot for weeks and I have been missing my morning mug of hot caffeinated goodness. I know this respite from oppressive heat is temporary and that there is some irony in celebrating with a hot beverage. But when the morning involves listening in on a 2.5 hour conference call--as a technical writer many of my calls are more about listening than participation--nothing else will do.
